Fernandes doesn’t deserve to be MU captain, just replace it!

Bruno Fernandes’ attitude when Manchester United was slaughtered by Liverpool was heavily criticized. Fernandes was deemed unfit to be captain of the Red Devils.

Fernandes led MU when they visited Anfield, Sunday (5/3/2023) evening WIB, which ended in a crushing 0-7 defeat.

The players are under their best performance and it seems that MU has not been on fire for the last three months. Fernandes is one of the highlights.

Because Fernandes was not only able to raise the spirits of his colleagues, but failed to control his emotions. He was involved in a small friction with Trent Alexander-Arnold on the sidelines for fighting over the ball.

Fernandes did get the ball but was overly annoyed, so he threw it at the goalkeeper and had time to push the linesman.

Fernandes was fortunate enough that he was not shown a yellow card. Prior to that, Fernandes also escaped punishment from the referee after violently violating a Liverpool player.

Fernandes’ performance was then thoroughly scrutinized by BBC pundit who is also former top Premier League striker Chris Sutton. According to Sutton, Fernandes as captain should not behave like that.

Even Sutton also highlighted Fernandes who did nothing when Stefan Bajcetic passed him easily.

Therefore, Sutton asked Erik ten Hag as manager to remove the captain’s armband from Fernandes and look for a replacement. In fact, Bruno Fernandes is in the vice-captain position because Harry Maguire is often benched.

“There are a lot of players who are better suited to be captain,” said Sutton.

“Fernandes is not their best leader. There are better candidates, one of them is Casemiro.”

“I think he can no longer wear the Manchester United captain’s armband.”
