UEFA has announced that it is going to open an investigation against Barcelona in the Negreira case for a “possible violation of UEFA’s legal framework.” The highest European body thus fully enters the process, which could even end with the exclusion of the Barça club from European competitions for a season.
“In accordance with Article 31(4) of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations, UEFA Ethics and Disciplinary Inspectors have been appointed today to carry out an investigation into a possible breach of UEFA’s legal framework by FC Barcelona in relation to the so-called ‘Negreira Case'”, reads the statement made public by the body chaired by Aleksander Ceferin.
