Evenepoel dominates the 3rd stage of the Tour of Catalonia ahead of Roglic

Remco Evenepoel finished first in the 3rd stage of the Tour of Catalonia on Wednesday, just ahead of Primoz Roglic, still the overall leader.

The Belgian Remco Evenepoel won the third stage of the Tour of Catalonia ahead of the Slovenian Primoz Roglic, still wearing the leader’s jersey at the end of this new 180.5 km long mountain effort between Olost and La Molina.

Winner of the first stage ahead of Evenepoel, just ahead of the Belgian in the second, Roglic this time bent under the attacks of the world champion during a new duel serving as a foretaste of the Tour of Italy (6-28 may). Evenepoel (Soudal-Quick Step), however, only raised his arms two seconds before the leader of the Jumbo-Visma formation, who keeps the green and white leader’s jersey, with the same time.

Behind the two riders, the Italian Giulio Ciccone, winner of the second stage, completed the podium at thirteen seconds and retains his third place in the general classification (19 seconds). Frenchman Romain Bardet (DSM) finished 10th in the stage on Wednesday.
