“The way in which Frans acted does not match the standards and values of FC Utrecht, where a safe working climate is paramount.” This is stated by the supervisory board of FC Utrecht following the owner’s dressing room visit on Saturday evening after the defeat against Go Ahead Eagles (1-2).
During that visit, it also came to a scuffle with player Sean Klaiber. Van Seumeren apologized to the staff and players on Sunday. The action has no consequences for Van Seumeren; he will continue to be part of the supervisory board of the Utrecht club in the future.

Forty million euros
Van Seumeren has been the owner of the Utrecht professional football club since 2008. Since then he has invested around forty million euros in the club.
FC Utrecht suffered the third defeat in a row at home on Saturday evening: after the blistering cup defeat against the amaterus of Spakenburg (1-4), the defeats against Fortuna Sittard (1-2) and Go Ahead Eagles (1-2) followed.

The entire Supervisory Board has carefully discussed the incident in recent days. “Frans regrets it and has assured us as a supervisory board, but also the entire club, that this will never happen again. The supervisory board is convinced that after the talks with Frans van Seumeren, the frameworks, responsibilities and rules that apply to supervisory board- members are properly adhered to.
