45 minutes from Montpellier, in the town of Montagnac, the winemaker-owner Jean-Claude Mas places the horse at the heart of his wine tourism offer. It offers a complete package promoting the discovery of its territory.
Nestled between vineyards and pine forests, the equestrian center has been renovated and the offer has been enriched with the acquisition of a horse-drawn carriage and a team for a ride in the heart of the Château Paul Mas vineyard. Through the vineyards, to the rhythm of the steps of the Abbey and Ulka horses, visitors, comfortably installed, enjoy a 360° view of the Etang de Thau, the Mediterranean, Sète and Mont Saint-Clair, but also on the Hérault plain and the Cévennes. This moment of total change of scenery of about an hour is followed by a tasting. A nice experience for wine lovers and nature lovers.
The adjoining stables are integrated into the wine estate and become the stables of Château Paul Mas. Here, it is the horse that therefore makes the link between tourism and wine with the mare from France, Eden, used for work in the vines, which are cultivated according to the principles of biodynamics (a method of cultivation that does not use any of synthesis). The horse also becomes the emblem of the new logo of the equestrian center.
The one-hour horse-drawn carriage ride followed by a tasting of three wines accompanied by a cheese board costs 35 euros per adult (18 euros per child up to 10 years old). Several circuits of equestrian rides are also offered, riding lessons, boarding rates… It is also possible to visit the estate in a buggy. More information ici.
