Del Potro is already looking at the US Open

Juan Martín del Potro wants to prepare for a new opportunity in tennis and say goodbye to the courts in one of the biggest tournaments in the world: the US Open. A piece of news that AS already announced last October and that ‘Delpo’ himself confirmed after his bet in the middle of the World Cup with Argentina’s victory.

‘Delpo’, 34 years old and who hung up his racket last year after the Buenos Aires Tournament after several years weighed down by knee injuries, he wants to shine again on the stage where he achieved the greatest success of his career with the conquest of the US Open in 2009.

In statements to the Argentine journalist Danny Miche, ‘Delpo’ showed his enthusiasm for competing again in New York in the most special tournament for him. “I made a promise like all Argentines. My tennis is still good, it will never be a problem to pick up the racket and see how I feel. The physical issue and my knee is something I work with every day. I am going to leave that tennis window open at least until the US Open. It is the most special tournament for me. I still have time, I’m going to start training, I will see how the leg responds and I will see later if I can do it”.
