Martin Schindler has reached the round of 16 of the Darts UK Open with an outstanding performance. In view of the form strength, more seems possible for the German. Especially since world champion Michael Smith, Gerwyn Price and defending champion Danny Noppert surprisingly dropped out.

Martin Schindler has reached the round of 16 of the UK Open for the second time in his career. The Strausberger won the first real major tournament since the darts world championship against Adrian Lewis and once again made a big exclamation mark. The German, who is likely to be ranked 26th in the Order of Merit on Monday for the first time, triumphed over the 2011 and 2012 World Champion with 10:5.

“The Wall” played an average of 101.24 and already had the standing. Thanks to his outstanding scoring and a tremendous success rate of 53 percent in the doubles field, the 26-year-old never left any doubt that after 2020 he would make it into the top 16 again create. Even when the score was 9:4, with 164 points remaining, he just missed a match dart on the bullseye. In the 15th leg Schindler went through again, after only four shots he had 32 points left and completed 13 darts to a clear 10:5. world class!
