‘Club Brugge is lucky in an accident and can cash on flop transfer’ – Transfer news

Not all Club Brugge purchases in recent years have been a hit. However, a loan can sometimes work wonders.

In 2021, Club Brugge took over Faitout Maouassa from Stade Rennais for 4 million euros. There was talk of an absolute top transfer for next to nothing, but he couldn’t break through at all in Bruges.

Last summer he was rented out to the French Montpellier HSC and it seems to be working there. He played 25 games with it, scoring three times and also handing out five assists.

However, the deal between the French club and Club Brugge does not include a purchase option. However, Montpellier would like to keep him on board and are looking for a permanent transfer. There was also interest from the German Borussia Mönchengladbach this week.

The Frenchman still has a contract on Jan Breydel until June 2025. With a market value of five million euros and interest from various teams, Club Brugge may be able to increase the price a bit, so that it can still cash in on a flop transfer.
