Champions: Pioli, clear difference between the championship and the cup – Football

(ANSA) – MILAN, MARCH 17 – Stefano Pioli has no doubts: “There is a clear difference between the championship and the Champions League”. The Milan coach starts from this consideration and adds: “We’ll play against Napoli: it will be a stimulating match because we find a strong opponent and because it will be a quarter-final. But we will be there with merit and ambition. And we want to go through “.

Pioli sees the pairing with Spalletti’s team for the quarter-finals as an opportunity to underline the Rossoneri’s ambition and pride. “Does it bother me that in Naples someone cheered in the draw? Between before and after – Pioli replies to a direct question – I prefer to celebrate and be happy afterwards”.

Pioli continues by analyzing his Milan’s side of the draw, which in a possible semi-final would find the winner of Benfica-Inter: “Absolutely for us the Champions League is a goal and we want to go all the way, why shouldn’t we think we can do it? We have experience to understand at what level we will have to play. But first – he concludes – let’s not lose sight of the fact that we have to start thinking about getting through the round”.
