The Murcian, less effective at the service than in the premiere against Thanasi Kokkinakis, suffered to carry out the sixth game of the match.

Griekspoor is an uncomfortable tennis player, without big blows but at the same time without too many shortcomings. That is why he is number 36 on the ATP lists and that is why this season he has premiered his list of titles in Pune (India).

Carlitos’ advantage is that he has plenty of talent and alternatives to get out of any difficult situation. Juan Carlos Ferrero’s pupil had left seven points with the serve to sign the four equals. Those were the points he lost to Kokkinakis in the second round.

The Dutchman, without making a sound, came to sudden death alive. He was struggling to win his first ‘top10’ after seven failed attempts. He will have to keep trying because the first favorite closed the door on him.

Among the privileged attendees at the Tennis Garden headquarters there were two basket myths like Dirk Nowitzki and Steve Nash. The defeated one smelled the tragedy when in the third game of the second set he broke his racket in half with the help of his leg. She cost him a ‘warning’ from the chair umpire. It was already too late for him. The wind was blowing in the Californian desert. The cyclone, once again, came from Murcia.

With 2-0 against, the Haarlem tennis player had two ‘break’ options to re-engage in the duel. He could not with any of them and ended up giving up.

Draper, relentlessly

The tennis player from El Palmar will face Jack Draper this Tuesday, the executioner of his compatriot Andy Murray by 7-6(6) and 6-2.

Draper, two years older than Alcaraz, already knows how the Spaniard spends them. He lost to him in the only precedent between the two in Basel 2022. The match is scheduled for the first of the night session, at 02:00 in the morning in Spain.

The world number two is four wins away from overtaking Novak Djokovic on the charts. Right now, the Serbian maintains an income of 650 points with respect to the leader of the ‘Armada’.

The good thing for Spanish is that is distancing his closest pursuers before the Miami Open where he has no margin to add as current champion of the contest.

Stefanos Tsitsipas, third in the ranking, he is at 740 points and 950 is the difference with Casper Ruud, room. It should be remembered that the Norwegian was a finalist in the Florida TMS in 2022.
