Button will also compete in the NASCAR circuit at the Austin circuit : F1LV Blog

Former Formula 1 driver Jenson Button will make his debut in the NASCAR series this month and will compete at the Austin circuit, where one of his competitors will be former F1 colleague Kimi Raikkonen.

2009 champion Button will start with the support of “Rick Ware Racing Ford” and “Stewart-Haas Racing”. In addition, Button has three Cup Series races scheduled – at the Austin circuit on March 26, at the new Chicago street circuit on July 2, and at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on August 13.

This will be Button’s second NASCAR-related venture as he will compete in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in a specially modified Chevrolet NASCAR race car for Hendrick Motorsports. In this project, his teammates will be Jimmie Johnson and Mike Rockenfeller.

Jenson Button has already completed enough test laps in a NASCAR car and his Cup Series rounds cannot be considered preparation for the 24 Hours of Le Mans, as the Chicago and Indianapolis rounds will take place after the Le Mans race.

After his Formula 1 career, Button has competed in a variety of saloon car championships and rally racing series, winning Super GT in Japan, testing the WEC series with the SMP LMP1 project, and competing in British GT, Extreme E and Nitro Rallycross.
