Brice Samba (Lens): “We got used to people badly”

“Where is the challenge of your derby against LOSC and how decisive is it in the race for Europe?
Honestly, we all know it’s a special game. We are very close geographically, so for our supporters, it’s a very important, very difficult match. Now we are on our way. We are six points ahead of them, which does not mean that we pay attention to that.

You are currently cashing in a lot at the start of the second period. Is it a coincidence or a problem of concentration?
I wouldn’t say it’s a lack of focus. But the management of small details. We take a little more but we are still the best defense in the Championship. It is a period a little less auspicious in the effective direction in the two surfaces. We know what to work on. In particular, we look at our goals conceded as we did when there were none. Me, I would sign immediately if we ended the season with the best defense in L1.

No. We are not used to people winning matches. This is RC Lens’ best season for 120 years. For us, there is no downturn. A season is a long journey. It’s never calm. There are storms. If we pick up our pace like at the start of the season, it can hurt very, very badly.

We are too hard on you on this bad passage?
No. We are used to it. When I look at the standings, we have three defeats in L1. The only other team with three defeats is PSG. At some point, you should calm down. If we have to be at the top, we will be, we have no particular pressure.

Is there a general slowdown at the top of the ranking?
We win fewer matches. But we are still here. Paris is ten points ahead of us. Marseille broke their points record with Tudor. You tell yourself when there is shortness of breath?

Is this derby a revenge on the first leg (0-1)?
No. It’s a big word. The team that will sting first will hurt the opponent. We will try to do as usual. They are under pressure. I can’t deny that this is a special date for our supporters. The frustration of the last matches, linked to the lack of efficiency, has generated annoyance. Is the doubt there?
I did not feel any doubt. We would have to ask each of the players. When we look at our content, we know very well that the word efficiency comes up. When you hurt the opponent, it’s easier to win matches.
