Breogán sinks Fuenlabrada more and aims for the Playoffs

Ehe Río Breogán emerged unscathed (73-92) from the visit to the bottom team, Carplus Fuenlabrada, in a game in which they came to see themselves behind at half-time but which ended in a third quarter in which they converted almost half of their points .

Fernando Martín welcomed his team for the first time after the competitive break, a moment that the team took advantage of to reinforce itself with a couple of new faces. For this reason, the desire to see basketball and the illusion were mixed in the stands, despite the painful defeat the previous day in Manresa.

The good atmosphere infected the Madrid team, which showed an intensity that led them to dominate in rebounds and steals during the first quarter. The shot was different to sing, in which Quintana’s men skated with a 1 of 5 in triples and a 1 of 4 from the free range line.

Despite this, they managed to equalize the rival’s first eleven points, nine of which were scored between Hollatz and a fast-moving Happ that made the rival centers fly under the basket. From there, he took off Breogán with a 0-7 run that gave him peace of mind.

In other circumstances, those at home would have begun to doubt. And although they entered the second quarter 8 points down punished by Nakic’s inspiration, they offered a devastating staging that resulted in a 10-1 run that put them ahead. From there, an exchange of successes began in which the visiting team achieved the greatest income with a triple from Bamforth, balanced immediately afterwards by Kromah.

Back on the floor after passing through the changing rooms, the give and take continued on both hoops until Breogán converted four unanswered points to gain a slight advantage.

They were the green shoots of a run that ended up being 2-17 with 7 points from an unleashed Happ, hungry on the rebound and brave in drives to the basket, and two triples from Momirov. They did not lower the bar despite the income and the data at the end of the third quarter said it all: 11 of 14 on two-point shots, 4 of 5 on three-pointers and 3 of 3 on free throws.

There the confrontation and the show died, with two teams on the track who already knew the end of the film despite the fact that there were still ten minutes left. The relaxation brought with it an inevitable lack of points, only 5 between them in the first four and a half minutes of the quarter.

That drought was followed by a 2-8 run that delved into the wound of a Fuenlabrada that has chained 15 losses in a row, with some fans plugged in at first but who ended up calling for the resignation of the board.
