John Textor is looking for new investors for his group of clubs, Eagle Football. According to the website “Bloomberg”, specialized in business and finance, the American wants to raise capital to invest in the group that has Botafogo, with the French club Lyon, in addition to the Belgian team RWD Molenbeek, and Crystal Palace, from the Premier League English.

Textor, who goes from digital entrepreneur to sports investor, is working with a consultant to identify new sponsors for Eagle Football. Through the group, he quickly acquired stakes in several clubs in Europe and Latin America. The acquisition of Lyon, last year, was completed with the help of a debt package, which the North American intended to pay off over time, recalls the vehicle.

In addition, John Textor enlisted the help of Eagle Footboll equity investors, including the chairman of the company “Genstar Capital”, Jean-Pierre Conte, to finance the deal with the English club. He has again contacted several of those who did not participate before the Lyon deal to gauge their interest in investing now.

Discussions, however, are still ongoing and no decision has been taken on the size of any capital increase. According to the website, a representative for Eagle Football declined to comment.
