Biathlete Rastorgujev wins the sprint at the world championship for military personnel / Article

Rastorgujev shot all the targets in both lines of fire and reached the finish line after 26 minutes and 6.4 seconds.

He overtook the closest follower, the Frenchman Eric Perot, who also shot flawlessly, by 15.6 seconds, while the third place was taken by Bulgaria’s Vladimir Iliev, losing 30.2 seconds.

Renars Birkenthal lost to Rastorgujev by three minutes and 9.3 seconds and finished in 29th place, while Imants Malina lost less than six minutes, finishing in 46th position among 58 biathletes. Birkenthal missed two targets in the second shooting, while Malina shot flawlessly.

In the women’s 7.5 kilometer sprint, Annie Kate Sabule finished 33rd in the competition of 43 athletes with two shooting errors. Austrian Lisa Hauser celebrated the victory, to whom Sabule lost almost four minutes.

The world championship for military personnel in orienteering on skis is also taking place there in Buden. Raivo Kivlenieks was eighth in the middle distance on Wednesday, and Andris Jubelis was ninth.
