Beer showers and Co: Austria Salzburg must expect a display

One day after Austria Salzburg’s bitter 2-1 defeat at home against basement child SV Grödig, the heated duel is still the dominant topic in Salzburg’s lower house. Because not only during the game there was a lot of discussion, but also after the end of the game. Meanwhile, Austria accuses linesman Avni Muslija of hitting a fan with the linesman’s flag, which the Salzburg Football Association (SFV) on Monday, however, denied it.

Regionalliga: Now Austria Salzburg still has hope

Austria Salzburg has to tremble at the end of the regular season of the Regionalliga Salzburg. The people of Maxglan no longer have direct ascent in their own hands and will have to go up next Saturday…

Referee representative Bernd Hirschbichler condemns incidents

“After the defeat, Austria is now just hot for the referee, who incidentally rated all scenes correctly,” said SFV referee officer Bernd Hirschbichler after studying the video in an interview with SALZBURG24. The Pinzgauer also rejected the allegations about assistant Avni Muslija. A video available to the SFV shows that the fan was not hit. “There was only a verbal attack between the linesman and the fan, which was preceded by several beer showers and mugs from the audience,” said Hirschbichler, who then found clear words. “After the pyro chaos and the firecrackers thrown in Bischofshofen last week, we also condemn this renewed behavior by the Austria fans on Sunday.”

Claus Salzmann: “Do not want to react to rumours”

Chairman Claus Salzmann was ready to comment on Monday morning at the Austria concerned. “I have heard the allegations, but will not react to rumors. We have enough video material that we can check. When we have done that, we will react accordingly,” said the Viola board. Salzmann does not leave uncommented the fact that after the incidents in Bischofshofen there were again irritating scenes. “I have nothing against emotions. But I have nothing to do with beer showers, throwing cups and other excesses.”

Austria Salzburg threatens to report

According to Hirschbichler, the reports are already available to the ÖFB. “We can’t do more anyway,” said linesman Avni Muslija, who left the events uncommented and referred to the SFV. The Salzburg fan representative, Markus Eichbauer, had previously confirmed the alleged blow to S24 demand.

Maxglaner quarrel with referee appointment

The Maxglaners were also dissatisfied with the appointment of the linesman from Bischofshofen, who is involved in the youth team at BSK 1933. However, the SFV and Bernd Hirschbichler also have an explanation for this. “We don’t have the capacity to determine exactly where the referees are based. However, we always try to ensure that the referee or linesman is not from the same locality as a participating club on the pitch.”

Austria is also particularly bitter about Muslius’ posting on social networks, with the linesman clearly professing support for the Bischofshofeners. After the zero round against Grödig, Austria trembles in the regular season finish next weekend at bottom Hallein for direct promotion.
