AS Douanes obtains its first victory


Dakar, March 18 (APS) – AS Douanes (Senegal) secured their first Basket Africa League (BAL) win by beating Stade Malien by 74 points to 58 in their third game on Friday.

This victory allowed the Senegalese club to move from last place to fourth in the Sahara conference of the BAL 2023.

He lost to Abidjan Basket Club, 70-76, before losing to Rwanda Energy Group (REG), 55-69.

AS Douanes will play its fourth match this afternoon (5:30 p.m.), against the Kwara Falcons of Nigeria, who now occupy the last place in the Sahara conference.

Tuesday, the Senegalese club will complete its matches with a meeting with the Tunisians of US Monastir, the defending champions of the BAL.

On Friday, Abidjan Basket Club beat US Monastir by 90 points to 74. They took second place.

The Tunisians are in third place.

The REG, already qualified for the play-offs, after three victories, will play against Stade Malien this afternoon (2 p.m.).

The BAL 2023 play-offs will take place at the Kigali Arena, from May 21 to 27.

They will be preceded by BAL Nile Conference matches, which will be held at the Hassan-Moustafa Sports Hall, Cairo, from April 26 to May 6.

This conference concerns the Cape Town Tigers (South Africa), Ferroviario Da Beira (Mozambique), City Oilers (Uganda), Seydou Legacy Athlétique Club (Guinea), Petro Luanda (Angola) and Al Ahly (Egypt).
