Badosa happy for Sabalenka and her Australian Open title
Sabalenka, 24, made her big Grand Slam breakthrough at the start of this season at Melbourne Park.
In the Australian Open final, Sabalenka came one set down to beat Elena Rybakina. Sabalenka had a very difficult time last year as his serve was not working very well which negatively impacted his results.
But Sabalenka refused to give up and tried her best to turn the situation around and make it better. After Sabalenka won her first Grand Slam, Badosa said her good friend really deserved this success.
“As she always says, we’re kindred spirits. I think we have very similar personalities and I look up to her a lot. She’s a fighter and she’s been through a lot – tough times – and she’s fighting. always, no matter what.
We all remember how she started last year in Australia with the service, she tried, she tried and she never gave up, and she got an amazing reward.” “I know for her, it was very important and it’s a dream come true.
I was very happy because we are very close and we are going through the same journey together. I think she totally deserves it,” Badosa told Arab News.
Badosa, 25, also hopes to become a Grand Slam champion in the near future.
