Andrés Romero, Rafael Echenique and César Costilla lurking in Ranelagh

Andrés Romero, Rafael Echenique and César Costilla are the three Argentines out of five players who share the second position after the second round with a total of 133 shots, -9. The American Davis Shore is the pointer of the Roberto De Vicenzo Memorial 100 years after having completed the second eighteen holes with 68 shots.

Andrés Romero, the player with the most scrolls in the field thanks to his two victories on the DP World Tour and one on the PGA TOUR, recorded four birdies at 11, 2, 6, 9 (he came off the 10th tee) and two bogeys at 14 and 8 under the watchful eye of local fans in attendance at Ranelagh Golf Club.

“Yesterday was a spectacular day and I think I made the most of the par-5s. Today the wind was somewhat strong and the truth is that I did not know how to read some holes well. I got confused at times, but hey, that’s golf. I’m at nine under par and that makes me very happy and motivated for the weekend”, said Romero, who has just achieved a Top 20 finish last week at Termas de Río Hondo and today made 69.

For his part, Echenique excelled with 65 hits as a result of hits at 9, 10, 11, 13, 14, 15, 18 and only one bogey at 17. For his part, César Costilla from Tucuman registered 66 after going down to 1 , 7, 11, 13, 16, 17, with bogey at 15. Leandro Marelli, leader at the beginning of the day, did not have the expected turn and finished with 74 shots for 136 that place him in eighth place, like Tomás Cocha and Clodomiro Carranza, with 69 and 70 for the day, respectively.

As in the previous stops, the Zurich Argentina Swing continues this week with its Hoyo Solidario. For each birdie or eagle made during each of the four rounds of competition, Zurich Argentina will make a donation to the Fundación Futuros Profesionales Integrar.

The Korn Ferry Tour contests the Club Car Championship at The Landings Golf & Athletic Club. The Landing G & AC is the scene of the contest where Alejandro Tosti fell in the positions although he remains in the top ten places on the board. The Professional from Rosario adds 66 and 71 shots from ninth place with a total of -7, two shots behind the leaders, David Skinns from England, and the Americans Shad Tuten and Nicholas Lindheim.

For his part, Abel Gallegos registers 139 strokes and 70 for the day, ranking in twentieth place, while Alan Wagner, Martín Contini, Jorge Fernández Valdés and Julián Etulain failed to advance to the rounds of the weekend.

With two rounds of 71 shots, Emiliano Grillo advances to the final rounds of the Corales Puntacana Championship, one of two competitions this week on the PGA TOUR calendar. He is ranked 44th with -2, while his compatriot Tano Goya adds one more stroke with 72 and 71. For his part, Augusto Núñez made 68 strokes for the day adding 144, while Fabián Gómez, 74, 71, He said goodbye to the competition by adding one more stroke than indicated by the qualifying cut. The leader of the contest is Matt Walace of England with 133 shots, -11, and 66 for the day.
