AMLO agrees to meet with Latin American presidents to create an anti-inflation plan – El Sol de México

Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador spoke with four Latin American presidents to agree on a anti-inflationary plan region that eliminates duty between these countries and that allows the import and export of food at a lower cost.

In a video on social networks, the Mexican president stated that this multilateral dialogue with his peers Brazil, Colombia, Cuba y Argentina would be done through a video conference next April 5 at 10:00 a.m.

He explained that five invited countries can participate initially, but he does not want to leave out the president of Chile, Gabriel Boric.

He stressed that he will also invite his peers from Bolivia, Luis Arce and the president of Honduras, Xiomara Castro.

“Yesterday morning, at noon and in the evening I spoke with our friends, the presidents of Brazil, Colombia, Cuba and Argentina”, to expand this project to bring down inflation.

“We agreed to meet for video conference to face inflation and help each other”, stressed the president in his public message this Thursday afternoon.

The message is accompanied by a video of the president’s conversation with the four leaders in which he highlights that there are many opportunities for the economic-commercial exchange.

He exemplified that all the countries summoned can cooperate by “removing tariffs” on food such as chicken and beefas well as other products, such as cementa material that produces Cuba y Colombia.

The president, when coordinating the video call with his Latin American peers, told them that the Secretary of the Treasury, Rogelio Ramirez de la O, and the chancellor, Marcelo Ebrard, They will be in charge of making the links with their counterparts to refine the details of the meeting.

This same Thursday morning, López Obrador said that for the moment he would not invite Peru nor Ecuador to this project to bring down inflation.
