Alexia Putellas, Mango and Save the Children join forces to promote education – News – Trends

Goals is the name of a project launched by Mango and the NGO Save the Children to promote access to education and sports for more than 4,000 people in Bangladesh, 70% of whom will be girls and women, over the next two years. . Alexia Putellas, the best soccer player in the world and Mango ambassador, is also the Goals ambassador.

Through this initiative, they seek to contribute to the social and economic development of Bangladesh, one of the world centers of textile production, promoting the opportunities of two of the communities close to various factories with which Mango works in the areas of Dhaka and Savar.

The project involves the construction of four early childhood education centers and the promotion of playful and educational activities. Sport will be the backbone of the program, so Save the Children will develop outdoor activities such as football, cricket, a badminton championship for girls from 10 to 18 years old or a chess competition in educational centers, as well as local games. . The initiative, in which the company will invest a total of 500,000 euros, will later be extended to Turkey.

Alexia Putellas has actively participated in the conceptualization and design of the project, highlighting the role of sport as a lever for change in society. The footballer has co-designed a solidarity shirt with Mango with the message ‘Girls should play with dolls whatever they want to’, which is now on sale in selected stores in Spain, Portugal, France and the United States, and through her page Mango.com website in more than eighty markets around the world. The benefits derived from its sale will go entirely to Save the Children for the future development of the second phase of the project in Turkey.
