Threatened to death and hit with a baseball bat. The farm laborer who ended up in the emergency room of the “Barone Lombardo” hospital in Canicattì after being attacked inside his home by two men is 48 years old. And both have already been identified and reported to the Prosecutor of the Republic of Agrigento for the hypotheses of the crime of personal injury, threat and trespassing. It is a forty-nine year old resident in Riesi and a twenty-two year old resident in Mazzarino.
In recent days, the farm laborer from Castrofilippo saw the two enter the house at noon. They hadn’t been invited, and perhaps they weren’t welcome. For “trivial reasons” – the carabinieri of the Castrofilippo station, who are coordinated by the Canicattì company command, reconstructed – the forty-eight year old was threatened with death and beaten with a baseball bat. Then the two attackers walked away.
The farm laborer ended up in the emergency room of the Canicattì hospital where the doctors found injuries that could be healed in about 15 days, barring complications.
The carabinieri of the Castrofilippo station – the next day, as soon as they received the forty-eight-year-old’s complaint – immediately notified the Agrigento Public Prosecutor’s Office and started the investigation. An investigative activity of verification and confirmation that ended in the past few hours with the denunciation, in a state of freedom, of the two workers of Riesi and Mazzarino, in the Caltanissetta area.
Granted – but there are no leaks in this regard – the fact that the soldiers of the Arma are continuing to investigate to try to understand what actually triggered that aggression. Definitely, but precisely there are no institutional confirmations in this regard, there have been disagreements, problems between the victim and the aggressors. But it will be up to the investigations of the Arma military to clarify this aspect. It is not excluded that, in the next few days, the victim of the attack may once again be heard, precisely to try to clarify things, by the investigators who do not seem willing to leave anything to chance. Meanwhile, and this is certain, the two workers – residing in the towns of Nisseno – have in fact been reported to the Prosecutor for personal injuries, threats and trespassing on the farm laborer of Castrofilippo. Now they will have to try to clarify, and defend themselves where possible, on their position.
