Zarate injury, season over: Cosenza offers him a contract renewal

The season of Mauro Zarate at Cosenza it is already finished: arrived in the January market bringing great enthusiasm in the environment with his return to Italy, the Argentinian forward brought back a left cruciate injury during the match played against Sudtirol on Saturday. However, three matches, two of which as owner, were enough to bring Zarate into the heart of Cosenza, so much so that – immediately after the diagnosis – the club offered him a contract renewal “as a sign of gratitude”.

“Società Cosenza Calcio informs that, during yesterday’s match, the footballer Mauro Zàrate suffered a distortion trauma to his left knee. The diagnostic tests performed this morning highlighted the involvement of the capsular ligament (anterior cruciate ligament injury). In the next few hours the opportunity to intervene surgically will be evaluated”, reads a statement published by Cosenza, which then also writes: “To Mauro, who immediately he showed great attachment to the shirt and has made his talent and experience available to his team-mates and the technical staff, the club hopes he will be back on the pitch as soon as possible and will offer the attacker a renew the existing contract as a sign of gratitude and an incentive for a prompt return”.

Zarate, 35, had signed a contract with Cosenza last January 31, until the end of the season.
