Last weekend, the “XXVIII International Alpe Adria Trophy” was held in Lignano Sabbiadoro, Grand Prix Juniores M/F. The Judo Club Sakura Arma di Taggia asd brought two athletes to the competition: Leonardo Manetta, Junior Kg. -81 and Lisa Riccio, Junior Kg. +78.
The race, very well organized as in all its editions, saw a large participation of athletes who created an intense day of competitions. Leonardo Manetta, in the first year of the Juniores category, conducted an honorable competition, engaging all his possibilities as an athlete who recently returned to business after the pandemic period. He didn’t manage to get into the top areas of the standings, but he had a very positive experience that will help him for the next races.
Lisa Riccio on the other hand, she conducted a truly positive competition, decisively overcame her opponents, winning her matches by “ippon” and demonstrating that her preparation is definitely valid. Maestro Ben.to Alberto Ferrignowhich followed the athletes in the race, has
commented: “The boys both performed very well. Leonardo Manetta is training tenaciously to make up for the period lost due to the pandemic and we hope to have good results soon. Lisa Riccio is going through a very positive period: she is acquiring more and more of that confidence which is essential for success in competitions and her preparation should undoubtedly lead her to have other good results. The next commitment in the national field will be the final of the Coppa Italia A2 which will be held in Ostia Lido on 02/25/2023 and we hope to have some other satisfactions”.
