Xavi: Ansu Fati is not for sale!

Barcelona

Ansu Fati is rumored to be attracting interest from a number of Premier League clubs. Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez confirmed Fati was in his plans.

After a season full of injuries last season, this time Fati is fit. So far he has been injury-free, but has had problems with playing opportunities.

Of the 31 appearances in all competitions this season, only nine times has the 20-year-old striker started. Even overall, he has only made two full caps to date.

The lack of playing opportunities reportedly made Fati think about leaving Barcelona. Reportedly there is interest from the Premier League, including from Manchester United who are building a team with Erik ten Hag.

Barcelona president Joan Laporta had previously confirmed his intention to retain Ansu Fati. This time Xavi emphasized the view from a technical point of view.

“Ansu Fati is not for transfer, like everyone else in the current squad. He is a very important player. I have enormous expectations,” Xavi Hernandez was quoted as saying Sportsmole.

“We expect a lot from him, I have blind faith in him. I like all the players. We have formed a squad based on what I want,” he added.
