Woerts is annoyed: “I think Makkelie is very lenient…

Chris Woerts thinks Danny Makkelie should have added more extra time to Feyenoord against PSV. The sports marketer found the nine minutes extra mild from the arbitration.

“A good exciting game. Good isn’t really the right word. But exciting,” Woerts begins at Koffie met Chris. “Then I hear on television ‘nine minutes of injury time is too long’. But I actually thought it was five minutes too short.”

“Those PSV players were just lying on the ground. Only the VAR moment with the red card lasted two minutes and ten seconds. And I think you had ten substitutions”, he continues. “I think Makkelie has been very lenient.”

According to Woerts, there are not enough extra playing minutes in the Netherlands. “In the Eredivisie, four minutes is already a lot. Six, seven, eight minutes is quite normal in the Premier League. That is as it should be,” says Woerts. “Because those PSV players were wasting time from the first minute. Very annoying.”
