Wiplanet baseball: everything is ready for the first Andrea Bologna memorial

MONTEFIASCONE – Sunday 12 February, at the Palazzetto dello Sport in Montefiascone, the joy of 90 children playing baseball will overcome the sadness caused by the death of Andrea Bologna, a great protagonist of Montefiascone baseball for a quarter of a century.
Thanks to the collaboration of the municipal administration and the willingness of the volleyball clubs, in particular Libertas Montefiascone and Volley ’88, which freed up an entire Sunday at the Palazzetto dello Sport, WiPlanet Baseball was able to organize a large indoor tournament entitled 1 ° Andrea Bologna memorial, reserved for the Minibaseball and Under 12 categories, from 7 to 12 years old.
The company is particularly grateful to the Bologna family, and in particular to his wife Petya, who came especially from the United States, who wanted to collaborate in various ways in the event.
Andrea’s many former teammates wanted to sign a poster of the event with their name and jersey number, as is customary in baseball, to be given to his wife as a memento of the deep friendships grown up on the teams.
The teams of Viterbo Baseball, Red Foxes Roma and Cali Acilia will participate in the tournament, as well as of course the yellow-greens. The games will be played uninterruptedly according to the indicated schedule, from 9 in the morning until the final awards ceremony with group photo at 6 pm, with the souvenir jersey of the tournament, printed in different colours, with which all the matches will be played.
It will be a big colorful party and, for the yellow-green Under 12s, also the first time that pitchers and catchers will play, given that until now, in the beginners’ category, one’s own coach was expected to be pitcher.
