VfB Stuttgart: In the Labbadia table even penultimate | Sports

When looking at this table, the fear of relegation creeps up in every VfB fan!

After the 2-1 defeat at Schalke, the Stuttgart team is only one place above the line in 15th place in the Bundesliga – tied on points with Hoffenheim (16th) and Bochum (17th). But it gets even worse! In the Bruno table of horror, things look even bleaker for the Swabians. With five points from seven games, VfB is penultimate.

Since head coach Bruno Labbadia (57) took over during the winter break, only Hoffenheim (1 point from 7 games) have collected fewer points than VfB. Sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth: “We don’t have a problem with the quality. Games like the ones against Cologne and Freiburg show that. But we have to get the fluctuations out of the team.”

And as soon as possible! Under Labbadia, the Swabians only managed one league victory, the hoped-for Bruno effect never came. Stuttgart has scored a measly 0.7 points per game since taking office. Under predecessor Michael Wimmer (42) there were more than twice as many at 1.5. Pellegrino Matarazzo (45), who was on the VfB touchline for the first nine days of the game and is now training relegation competitor Hoffenheim, did only slightly worse than Labbadia (0.5).

And there is little hope of a quick recovery. The upcoming opponents are all teams from the top group with Bayern, Frankfurt, Wolfsburg and Union.

“Now there are teams where you can show what is important in the battle for the class,” says Wohlgemuth. Goalkeeper Fabian Bredlow (27) is combative: “We’ve kept up with Bayern in the last two games. That should also be the route for Saturday.”

Rescue possible again! THIS hoe makes the whole of Schalke dream
