The Valmiers won the first two games of the series quite comfortably at home and in the third game in Irlava, which was played in the middle of this week, they quickly took a comfortable 2-0 lead. Although in the second period the home team got back as a result, a few minutes after scoring the equalizing goal, “Irlava” got behind again, not being able to catch the opponents in the remaining time. After Gint Siliņš’s goal, the minority managed to get closer to 3:4, but in the remaining time, Kevin Šmits made it 5:3, but at the end of the match, when two of the leaders of the home team, Renārs Austrumis and Kristaps Kazlovskis, had seen the red cards in front of their eyes, the goal of the large numerical majority Mārtiņš Broks converted the score, setting up the end result of the game. East earned a red card for a foul against Pavel Semyonov, while Kazlovskis earned a similar punishment for insulting the referees.

This means that “Irlava”, which is already struggling with lineup problems, will have to do without two of its leading floorball players at least in the fourth game of the series. Whether the series will return to Valmiera and whether Kazlovskis and Austrus will be able to play this season will largely be decided tonight in Irlava.
