Inter Milan will not freeze Milan Skriniar from Simone Inzaghi’s squad. The defender from Slovakia will remain a mainstay of the Nerazzurri until the end of this season.
Reported by La Repubblica and quoted by Football Italia, Skriniar will not be exiled because he is an important pillar in Inter’s back line, where he has made 27 appearances this season, 24 of them as a starter.
Inter also respected Skriniar’s decision to leave in the summer. They only asked him to maintain a professional attitude so that the club could pursue its target of winning a trophy at the end of the season.
Skriniar has signed a pre-contract that he will join Paris Saint-Germain next season. That means, he will leave the San Siro for free after his contract expires on 30 June.
In the match against Atalanta in the Coppa Italia which fell on January 31, Skriniar was not included in the Inter squad because there was still a chance to move. He then watched the game from home to avoid potential friction with Inter fans.
It is believed that Skriniar will return to defend Inter when he meets AC Milan in the Derby della Madonnina this weekend. La Beneamata needs his services in order to achieve victory while maintaining its position at the top of Serie A.
Inter’s attitude towards Skriniar is 180 degrees different from what AS Roma did towards Nicolo Zaniolo. The 23-year-old player was frozen by the Giallorossi until the end of the season because he refused to move to Bournemouth.
