Brother Moritz takes over agendas
Tennis hammer: Dominic Thiem surprisingly announces the separation from the PR agency of ex-soccer star Gerard Piqué (“Kosmos”).
Austria’s tennis star Dominic Thiem (29) ends the collaboration with ex-soccer star Gerard Piqué’s management agency “Kosmos” after about a year and a half. On Monday evening, Kosmos confirmed that the agency and the tennis player will go their separate ways. Thiem’s brother Moritz will take over the agenda.
Next setback for the agency. About two weeks ago it became known that the International Tennis Federation (ITF) was separating from the investment group Kosmos. It was only in August 2018 that the ITF completed a mega deal with the investment group founded by soccer star Gerard Pique. A deal to market and reform the Davis Cup, completed for 25 years, should flow $120 million a year, for a total of $3 billion.
“The ITF can confirm that its partnership with Kosmos Tennis for the Davis Cup is ending. The ITF has ensured that financial contingencies are in place and, as administrators of the competition, will conduct the 2023 qualifiers and finals as scheduled, with the Final 8 of these November in Malaga, Spain,” it said in a statement to the media.
