Eupen will be without Slovenian defender Jan Gorenc until the end of the season with a right ankle injury, the Pro League club announced on Tuesday.
Gorenc, 23, injured his ankle during the Pandas’ trip to Standard on January 27 (3-1 defeat). “Diagnostics and clinical tests have revealed that Jan Gorenc has to undergo an operation following his right ankle injury. Jan Gorenc will therefore be unavailable for the rest of the second round of the current season,” the German-speakers wrote in their press release.
The Slovenian defender arrived in Eupen last July from NS Mura in his native country. In total, he has only played three games for the Pandas this season.
Eupen currently sits in 14th place with 22 points, two more than relegation-first Zulte Waregem.
