NBA – A red laser from the SUV in which Ja Morant was frightened the Pacers and their staff following the match between the two teams at the end of January.
Indeed, after the match between Memphis and Indiana, on January 29, during which a relative of the leader had been expelled after returning to the field, the tension had not decreased at the end of the meeting. Ja Morant’s friends thus continued to invective the Pacers, who were waiting for their bus at the exit of the room. And when the leader arrived, the SUV in which he had engulfed slowed down while passing near the Indiana bus. It was then that a red laser would have swept the players and the staff of the Pacers…
One of the security guards on Rick Carlisle’s team is convinced it was the laser associated with a gun. “We felt that we were in serious danger”a witness told The Athletic.
An investigation that could not confirm the presence of a firearm… yet
The Pacers reported the incident to the NBA, which had to launch an investigation, but it did not shed any light on this incident, and especially to confirm that a firearm had been used.
“Although we have established that a confrontational situation occurred after the match, based on the interviews and other evidence collected, we could not corroborate that one person threatened others with a weapon. »
said Mike Bass, the league spokesman. “If additional information becomes available regarding the post-match situation, the league office will conduct a further review.”
After the story was released, Taylor Jenkins was forced to explain this new story.
“It was discussed internally. We are aware of the NBA investigation. They did a full investigation, we fully cooperated, and they released a statement saying nothing was corroborated or found. That’s all I know and that’s all I have to say.” he thus answered.
Absent against the Raptors, Ja Morant reacted to him on Twitter, explaining that his friend, Davonte Pack, had been banned from the FedExForum for a year. But for him, it’s still a way to tarnish the reputation of his team…
“They did an investigation and they saw that it was windy”he tweeted. “But they (the NBA?) still let an article out to portray me and my loved ones negatively. [Et] they banned my brother from home games for a year. »
