Miraflores, February 3, 2023. The Department of Sports and Recreation of the Municipality of Miraflores highlighted that activities such as tennis, volleyball and basketball were the sports disciplines that generated the greatest preference and demand among the public during last January.
In the first month of this year, both the Tennis Promotion Center and the Chino Vásquez Sports Complex registered more than 1,000 girls, boys, youth, and adults interested in starting or continuing the practice of a sport, including martial arts.
In January, the demand for other non-conventional disciplines such as hockey and rugby also grew, which, from the municipality, is offered through a methodology focused on the game, respect, socialization and other objectives aimed at forming a competitive spirit and sporting values.
The Municipality of Miraflores, through these activities, seeks to integrate the Miraflores commune as well as take advantage of and reactivate each of the recreation and sports spaces that the municipality has, in order to cement values that benefit the participants.
At the end of February, the call for new workshops aimed at adults and children will be made, within the district’s sports and recreational programs which will be in force throughout 2023, adding new spaces, inclusive and competitive proposals.
The Sports and Recreation Sub-Management reported that the summer programs and academies that are being developed at the Tennis Promotion Center and the Chino Vásquez Sports Complex have raised 18% more income, through a social cost, compared to January 2022 This makes visible a constant interest on the part of citizens towards the practice of sports for their integral development.
