Stillitano prefers the “glass half full” after suffering his first defeat as manager of Independiente in the Professional League

The DT of ‘Red’ chose to keep the “positive things” of the 1-2 against Platense in Avellaneda. He also referred to the spectacular setting that the Libertadores de América-Enrique Bochini stadium had.

After having returned from Córdoba with a great triumph against Talleres on the first date, Leandro Stillitano experienced the local debut in the bank of Independent and it was not exactly an afternoon with a happy ending. The ‘Red’ lost to Platense and the fervor of the more than 45,000 fans who filled the field in Avellaneda was dampened by that final 1-2.

The evaluation is negative because the result is not what we wanted. There are things to improve and correct. But I always look at the glass half full and there are positive things. Let’s not forget that except for Juanito Cazares, Rodrigo Rey and Javier Baez later they are all players very young. These matches are tough. The rival came in two situations and we couldn’t find the tie”, the Diablo coach began with his conclusions.

And he continued: “We had a lack of coordination that cost us the game. We lacked depth in the first half, but I think the second half was different and with the changes we wanted to continue attacking”.

Stillitano referred to the framework presented by the LdA-Ricardo Enrique Bochini and if the fact of playing in a full stadium can be a double-edged sword for a team with many youngsters: “I don’t think the framework in a full stadium weighed because the team He played as we trained, attacked and searched until the last minute. Since Wednesday we have been talking about this issue, that the people of Independiente are very demanding. But when the game ended there was some applause that makes me happy because the players gave everything to achieve a result that was not given to us. It was beautiful to experience what was experienced today with a full stadium. That must be capitalized in our favor”.

Captain Iván Marcone had to comply with a suspension date due to his expulsion against the T and he will be able to return next week, against Vélez in Liniers. Did Independiente miss you on Sunday afternoon? “Javier Baez played from the beginning because otherwise we didn’t have many experienced players in the absence of Iván. Obviously we feel the lack of Marcone because his thermometer on the field of play is very important, ”replied a Stillitano who was calm beyond his first defeat of the season.
