St. Pölten jumps back to the top of the table

The SKN St. Pölten won the LAOLA1 top game of the 17th round in the Admiral 2nd league away against the SK Sturm Graz II with 2:0.

The game could not kick off on time due to snowfall during the night and was played three hours late.

In Gleisdorf, where Sturm II plays its home games, the Lower Austrians take action early on. However, it takes until the 25th minute of the game before it becomes dangerous for the first time.

Keiblinger hits a free-kick cross in the sixteen, Ramsebner (25th) heads the ball on goal from close range. But storm goalkeeper Lorenz shows an outstanding save and scratches the ball off the line. Three minutes later, a similar situation, this time Barlov (28th) tries a header from a few meters – Lorenz is there again.

Double strike after the break

In the second half, the balance of power is balanced – probably because the “Wolves” quickly take the lead.

Substitute Montnor plays a cross into the five, which Silue (54th) extends in the direction of the far corner – 1:0.

It gets strange ten minutes later: Scharner (64th), who was also a substitute, takes aim harmlessly, but Mustafic deflects the ball dangerously. Lorenz directs the ball to the left pole. From there he jumps to the other pole and just over the line.

Sturm II is hardly dangerous and has to take a defeat at the beginning of spring. SKN is enthroned at the top of the table again with 35 points, followed by Blau-Weiss Linz and SV Horn, only one and two points behind. Sturm II remains in 13th place with 18 points.
