MU won the Carabao Cup or English League Cup after beating Newcastle United in the final. In the match at Wembley Stadium, Sunday (26/2/2023) evening WIB, the Red Devils won 2-0.

This victory ended MU’s fasting title which previously lasted six years. The last time MU lifted a trophy was in 2016/2017 when they won the Europa League and Carabao Cup with Jose Mourinho.

After celebrating on the field with the players, Ten Hag was greeted by a number of MU officials in the stadium hallway. Among the entourage was Sir Alex Ferguson.

Happiness clearly radiated from the face of the legendary former MU manager. The 81-year-old man then greeted Ten Hag with a hug.

A few days ago, Ten Hag and Sir Alex were seen meeting and having dinner together. Ten Hag was happy to be able to chat a lot with MU’s most successful manager.

“It was a dinner that showed that we are doing well and that he is very involved and committed to the club,” Ten Hag said as reported by Sky Sports.

“We can all learn a lot from him and what he did for Man United. He is an inspiration to all of us.”

“It’s an honor to be able to share my thoughts, talk about football, about how he leads the locker room and the team and strategy and so on. He wants to share that not only with me but he wants to give that to Man United and we are very grateful,” said Ten Hags.
