Semifinal for Kirsten de Wit at NK

Last weekend, badminton star Kirsten de Wit closed the NK badminton in the top sports hall in Almere with a semi-final in the mix double with Dyon van Wijlick. After two big victories in the main draw, the fourth-placed couple fully lived up to their placement. Last year’s champions (Van de Lecq / Jille) were still a size too big in the semi-finals.

In the women’s doubles, Kirsten was seeded second with Alyssa Tirtosentono, but an injury to Alyssa just before the tournament meant a withdrawal from the tournament, making Kirsten’s first final at the Dutch Championships a lost opportunity. In the same women’s doubles tournament, fellow townsman Bo Kneefel and her partner Jasmine Paap also made their appearance in the main draw. Despite good play, they had to lose out in the last 16 against the fourth placed couple Van Buiten / Loos.
