Second league day for CBS

This weekend, the Soria Badminton Club faces the second round of the National Club League on Saturday and Sunday in the Alicante town of La Nucía.

After the first two matches in January, the Soria club is in relegation positions, so this weekend’s matches are crucial for the future of the season so that the results that occur in La Nucía , they can place the Sorianos in the middle zone of the table and face the rest of the competition with greater calm.

The first match will be played on Saturday at eleven in the morning against the Cura Mora club. The people from Extremadura present an alignment similar to that of Soriana since the squad has many young players. In the afternoon session on Saturday, the rival will be the local club, Shuttle La Nucia, who have high-quality foreign and national players, making it seem like a confrontation that is difficult to overcome.

Finally, on Sunday morning, the rival will be Club Badminton Guadalajara. The La Mancha club also began with two defeats on the first day, being a team with the same aspirations as the Sorianos to maintain the category.

The team, led by Víctor Ortega, has two injured players, so the young players will have an even greater role and responsibility to obtain good results. According to the Soriano coach, the day would end as successful by winning one of the three matches.

Part of the players not called up for the league event will take advantage of the weekend to continue competing in order to maintain their fitness. Specifically, there will be seven players from the Soria-CS24 Badminton Club who will play a scoring test for the national ranking that will take place tomorrow, Saturday, in Vitoria. Specifically, they will be the under-15 players: Naroa Álvaro, Isabel Corchón, Alvaro Gómez and Carmen Gómez, the under-19 Alonso Garía and Manuel Acero, Santiago Martínez and José Carlos Pérez as senior players.

The goal set by the club is to return from Alava with a good number of medals.
