Romain Pitau laid off by Montpellier

After Olivier Dall’Oglio in mid-October, Montpellier announced that they were parting with a second coach this season. In a press release published on Tuesday, the MHSC indicated the precautionary layoff of Romain Pitau, as well as his assistants Pascal Baills and Frédéric Mendy, due to the poor results of the club, currently 15th in Ligue 1, with two points. ahead of the first relegation.

In the Hérault since 2009 and crowned champion of France as player and captain in 2012, Pitau immediately began his conversion to the club, successively becoming a coach in the youth categories then in the reserve. At the start of the season, the technician (45) had joined the technical staff, then quickly faced with poor performance, had been propelled as number one in place of Dall’Oglio.

First interim until the truce of the World Cup, Pitau had been confirmed in his post until the end of the season. But despite the appointment of Mendy as assistant and a slight improvement in January, he did not manage to provoke this electroshock to revive the team, in a worrying position for long months even if it has never fallen into the zone of relegation. At the head of Montpellier, Pitau has a poor record (2 wins, 2 wins and 8 losses). President Laurent Nicollin will hold a press conference Wednesday at 3 p.m. in the center of Grammont.
