Once BCCI’s most famous and sought after permanent test centre, the international standard Kanpur cricket stadium was in dire need of modernization. Also home ground of the state cricket team, the comprehensive renovation project also aims to ensure players in and around Kanpur have access to state-of-the-art sports facilities.
In addition to the recently renovated badminton and TT courts, the venue will also be equipped with a capacity of around 100 players, digital scoreboards, various civic amenities, more entry points and exit, in addition to lockers and separate changing rooms for men and women.
Recently, Green Park also saw the installation of a comprehensive visitors’ gallery which brought the rich history of the place to life in front of onlookers. The gallery includes snapshots and memorabilia recalling some of the most memorable cricket matches played at the stadium.
