Red Star-Vojvodina in memory of Mihajlovic – Football

(ANSA) – BELGRADE, 04 FEB – Today’s match in Belgrade between the hosts of Red Star and Vojvodina of Novi Sad, which marks the resumption of the Serbian 1st Division championship after the winter break, will be played Sinisa Mihajlovic, the former great Serbian champion who died recently in Rome, who had played for both Serbian clubs before moving to Italy. With Red Star, Mihajlovic won the 1991 European Cup in the final in Bari on penalties against Marseille.

The players of the two teams, in the match scheduled for this afternoon in the Rajko Mitic stadium, known as the Marakana of Belgrade due to the warmth of the red and white fans, will wear shirts dedicated to Sinisa Mihajolovic and, before the match, there will be ceremonies in memory of the champion. The presence of the family of the deceased former footballer is also planned. (HANDLE).
