Patriots owner wants to offer Brady one-day contract

New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft plans to offer retired Tom Brady a one-day contract. Kraft wants Brady, 45, to officially retire from the National Football League (NFL) as a Patriots player. “Not only do I want it, our fans are clamoring for it. He’s always been a patriot to us and always will be,” Kraft said.

“We will do everything in our power to bring him back and honor him for many years to come,” he said. Brady played 20 years for the Patriots, with whom he won the Super Bowl six times. The quarterback spent the last three years of his NFL career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, whom he led to a Super Bowl victory.

Brady announced his retirement on Wednesday. A year earlier, Brady had already decided to retire, but then returned for a season.
