OLYMPISM – Fedobadminton presents activities and national pre-selection

The Dominican Badminton Federation presented at a press conference the Superior National Preselection that will represent the nation in the upcoming Central American Games, El Salvador 2023 and incidentally announced 30 activities to be carried out during all weekends, of the remainder of February, March and April, corresponding to its program for the first four-month period of the year, announced in the activity held in the Wiche García Saleta hall of the Dominican Olympic Committee.

For FEDOBAD, Generoso Castillo (secretary), Miguel Feliz (co-treasurer and coach) and Rafael Santín (member and coach), accompanied by José Mera (Treasurer) and Pedro Julio Quezada (in charge of the Olympic Academy) of the Dominican Olympic Committee, They reported that the national team is made up of: Argenis Mariñez (Nagua), Juleixi and Juan Acosta (Neyba), Clarisa Pie (La Romana), Jonatan Linarez, Nairoby Jiménez, Anderson Taveras, Ernick Zorrilla and Daniela Acosta (Bayaguana).

Castillo reported that from this same weekend the Executive Committee is divided in full to visit the 23 provinces with badminton associations to do the 1st technical lift and 1st provincial meeting to evaluate the level of the athletes of each demarcation.

“From today we will go to Puerto Plata, Dajabon, Mount Cristi, Valverde, San Cristóbal, Bani, Azua, Ocoa, San Juan, Elias Pineapple, Barahona, Neyba, Mount Silver, Samaná, Nagua, Salcedo and Moca,” Castillo added.

Next weekend (March 3 and 4) it will be the turn of San Pedro de Macorís, Hato Mayor, El Seybo. La Romana and La Altagracia.

And on March 11 and 12, FEDOBAD will visit the National District and the province of Santo Domingo…

In addition to the 23 technical visits, Castillo announced the signing of an inter-institutional agreement with the National Institute of Physical Education (INEFI), highlighting the reach of 770 schools nationwide through 22 training sessions in 22 provinces of the country spread across the 18 educational regions. .

This program begins next Friday, March 3 with the signing of the agreement and with the completion of the 1st School Badminton Initiation Course to be held at the UASD sports center. Then, the following weekend (March 11 and 12), the 1st Beach Badminton Tournament “AIR BADMINTON” will take place at Playa Guibia.

The activities of FEDOBAD will continue with the assembly of the Level 1 International Course for Coaches, on March 30 (virtual), March 31, April 1 and 2 (face-to-face).

FEDOBAD will continue with the development of the 1st National Badminton Tournament by categories, and fulfilling another achievement for Dominican badminton, the top rung will play the Military Badminton exhibition, from April 3 to 5.

Coming to the big week, FEDOBAD, together with the Ministry of Sports, will set up the Easter Week Camps from April 5 to 9, and will end its extensive four-month program with participation in the Academy and Pan American Individuals Championship and qualifying for the World Cup. Badminton Beach, from April 16 to 30 in Jamaica.
