PLosing is the most normal thing in life. It depends where you are born, you realize sooner or later. But as much as we lose, that we lose much more than we gain, it must be that we do not assume it. at least in sportwhere something as natural as a defeat or ending a season without winning the big title becomes a failure. Seven letters like seven stones that are thrown with force towards eThe athlete or team that is not capable of winning.

It is a thought so ingrained that it makes you think, unconsciously, nonsense like the title of this opinion. In the MARCA infographic that illustrated Brady’s goodbye, it was read that he had played 23 seasons and had won seven rings. And, where logic would make you think “he has practically won a title for every three seasons”, the current exaggerated requirement reads “Well, in 16 seasons he won nothing“.

Tom Bradyindeed, won the Super Bowl seven times. Seven championship rings in his 23 seasons as a professional, which means (pure math) that in the other 16 years he didn’t win. By today’s standards of sporting demand, a loser in a manual. A loser. As Jordan, who won six NBA championships in 15 appearances. Nine failures. and what to say about Messiwho has played five World Cups and has only won one.

This absurd requirement of having to win everything and every year is contrary to reality and causes distortions in the clubs, very deep crises every two weeks and an overacting in defeat, which we should all assume more naturally. Because losing is more common than winning.

That’s why you have to celebrate every victory. every little triumph. Is it okay to hold a winter championship? Well of course it’s fine. Is it okay to celebrate your first win of the season when you’re last eleven points from safety? With even more reason, you don’t know when the next one might be. If the world isn’t going to skimp on stones when you stumble, don’t spare yourself a joy when you can celebrate it.
