the quartermaster German Alfaro participated this Sunday in the award ceremony of the third edition of the “SMT CUP”. The international tournaments Tenis Femenino “ITF W25” and of T.male athlete “ITF M15” were held on the fields of the Club Tucuman Lawn Tennisin the 9 de Julio park, with the participation of athletes from more than 16 countries.

The sporting event, sponsored by the Municipality of San Miguel de Tucumán, was attended by around 250 tennis players. The champion of the “ITF W25” was the Argentine Solana Sierra, who played the final against the Spanish Rosa Vicens Mas and won the prize of 25 thousand dollars.

In the award ceremony, Mayor Alfaro was accompanied by the national senator Beatriz Ávila the former judge Enrique Pediconethe captain of the women’s national tennis team, Mercedes Pazthe president of the Tucumana Tennis Association, Augusto Arquez and the former tennis player Raquel Giscafre.

“We are very happy because the third international competition is ending. This is important because it makes Tucumán visible, produces economic mobility and allows it to regain leadership in Noa; We have the necessary infrastructure to be able to work with this”, highlighted Alfaro.
For his part, Paz thanked the Municipality and Mayor Alfaro for sponsoring the tournament. In addition, she highlighted the importance of the contest: “This excites me, I am happy that this is a reality today,” said the captain of the women’s national tennis team.

In the sports contest, players from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Bolivia, Uruguay, Mexico, Colombia, the Czech Republic, China, the United States, Russia, Ukraine, Poland, Bulgaria, Italy and France.

Special recognition

During the ceremony, former tennis player Raquel Giscafré received a distinction for her career and her fight for women’s rights in tennis.
