Maud Simonnot meets readers at the Passeur bookstore

By Yannick Delneste

The author of “The Heavenly Child” and “The Hour of the Birds” will meet readers at the sign on Avenue Thiers from 6:30 p.m. on February 8

In two novels published in 2020 and 2022, the publisher and member of the reading committee of Éditions Gallimard Maud Simonnot has made a name for herself and a place among the newcomers to literary returns. After “The night for address” on the writer Robert Mc Almon in 2017, she was selected for the Goncourt 2020 prize with “The celestial child” before finally winning the Goncourt Italy prize. Two years later, in September 2022, she released her second novel “The Hour of the Birds”.

Lily, a young woman, travels to the island of Jersey to investigate the past of her father Simon, who was a boarder at the orphanage of shame closed in 1989. The silence of the inhabitants gradually rises, revealing pieces of the puzzle of the past.

Maud Simonnot will therefore be passing through Bordeaux this Wednesday, February 8, welcomed by the booksellers of Le Passeur, on the right bank. FREE ENTRANCE.
