Lorenzo Parodi dropped out in the second round. Teddy Riner excels in the +100 kg – OA Sport

It took place the second and last day of meetings of the Grand Slam of judo in Paris (France)in a weekend that was expected to be decidedly interesting at the Accor Arena in Bercy. In this day-2 we have witnessed the matches of the following categories: -81 kg, -90 kg -100 and +100 kg men; -70 kg, -78 kg and +78 kg women.

Italydeprived of its stars after the long preparatory meeting in Japan, presented itself at the starting line of the Parisian show with three representatives, namely Carola Paissoni in the -63 kg women, returning to the major circuit eight months after the last time, Gabriel Sulli nei -73 kg and Lorenzo Parodi in the -81 kg men.

For Paissoni and Sulli the adventure ended yesterday, failing to reach the Final Block; for Parodi unfortunately fate was the same. The Georgian went on to take the victory, beating the German in the Final Timo Cavelius. The French complete the podium Alpha Oumar Djalo and the Canadian Francois Gauthier Flag.

In the -90 kg the Dutch Noel van ‘t End he raised his voice, bending the Azeri’s resistance Murad Fatiyev. The Cuban finished on the third step of the podium Ivan Felipe Silva Morales and Georgian Luka Maisuradze. In the -100 kg the Dutch Michael Korrel was able to boast of success, prevailing in the final clash with Dzhafar Kostoev. The Israeli also concluded in the top-3 Peter Paltchik and Azerbaijani Zelym Kotsoiev. In the +100 kg it arrived the eighth symphony in a Grand Slam of the French champion Teddy Riner, for the sixth time victorious on the Parisian tatami. The transalpine ace defeated the Japanese Hyoga Ota and praised the Accor Arena in Bercy. The Uzbek also got on the podium Alisher Yupusov and Korean Youn Jaegu.

Among women the Spanish Ai Tsunoda Roustant gave herself the success in the -70 kg, having the better in the final act of the landlady, Marie Eve Gahiewhile the third step of the top-3 was conquered by the Brazilian Ellen Froner and by the Dutch Kim Polling. In the -78 kg big French party with a Final all from beyond the Alps: Audrey Tcheumeo opposite to Chloe Buttigieg. Tcheumeo won, while the Dutch finished in third place Guusje Steenhuis and Korean Lee Jeongyun. Now +78 kg day Koreana Kim Hyun she was the best, beating the Japanese Maya Akiba in the Final. In third place two transalpines: Romane Dicko by Julia Tolofua.
