Big scare for Thomas Mangani. The AC Ajaccio midfielder was hospitalized in Angers for a serious chest injury which occurred on Wednesday evening during the match between the two teams, we learned from the Corsican club.
Mangani, who is 36 years old, was hit in a collision with an Angevin player shortly after the hour mark. “Victim of a pneumothorax, our player was taken care of immediately. The intervention went well, Thomas will be back in Corsica soon, ”wrote the ACA on its Twitter account.
After his injury, the player was taken to Angers hospital where he was still under observation on Thursday evening. He could join Ajaccio on Friday or Saturday.
According to a source with knowledge of the case, Mangani suffered from a broken rib and a detachment of the pleura. We do not yet know the duration of his unavailability.
