LeBron James at -36 from Kareem’s record, race for the ticket

Despite the Pelicans’ loss on the field the other night, the whole world gravitating around the Lakers was focused on the performance of LeBron James to understand what will be the game in which Kareem Abdul-Jabbar will be overtaken to take the record for the best scorer in NBA history.

27 points (plus 9 rebounds and 6 assists) made it possible to get close to just 36 from the current record holder who seemed unattainable, despite 1/7 in archery. Given his scoring average (30.0), the “King” may have to wait two more games.

Barring disasters, like injuries or poor performance, he should still bring it down in Los Angeles, against Oklahoma City on Tuesday night or the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday night.

In the meantime, the fever-ticket to witness the breaking of the most iconic record in basketball shows no signs of stopping: from online retail sites we learn that the prices for a seat on the sidelines against Oklahoma and against Milwaukee have even reached 100,000 dollars (92,355 euros approximately at today’s exchange rate), compared to the normal 12,500 dollars (11,544 euros).
